This abstract design features two intertwined birds surrounded by a bronze spiral adorned with gold accents, creating a striking radial pattern. In Celtic symbolism, the spiral signifies energy and the expansion of consciousness, adding depth to the artwork’s meaning. Birds, another prominent Celtic symbol embody elements of nature, spirituality, and the divine. Together, these elements combine to create a visually captivating and spiritually resonant piece of art.

The colours in this design are also typical of those used in medieval manuscripts where pigments were sourced from the natural world around. The spiral, although considered a Celtic design, is in fact a megalithic symbol dating back 2500 years prior to the arrival of the Celts in Ireland. In Celtic artwork the spiral design can be formed from single, double, triple or quadruple swirls. These swirls are joined together in either an S or C shape. In the early Christian monastic art period the triple spiral or triskele was employed to represent the Holy Trinity: God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. To this day spiral patterns appear on many forms of Celtic art and craftwork to include pagan stone sculpture, iron age weaponry, Celtic crosses, illuminated manuscripts and ornamental jewellery.
