• 2. Traditional Irish blessing *

  •  May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. The rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand.

• 2. Choose a sympathy blessing *

  •  Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, and very dear. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal
  •  Níl na mairbh marbh ach beo I gcroí na n-éan duine - The dead are not dead but alive in the hearts of those who loved them.
  •  May you see God’s light on the path ahead when the road you walk is dark. May you always hear even in your hour of sorrow the gentle singing of the lark. When times are hard may hardness never turn your heart to stone. May you always remember when the shadows fall you do not walk alone.
  •  Fágann saol maith ina dhiaidh oidhreacht álainn - A life well-lived leaves behind a beautiful legacy.
  •  Your life was a blessing, you memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words, and missed beyond measure.
  •  Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I follow the plan God laid for me. I saw His face, I heard His call, I took His hand and left it all. I could not stay another day, to love, to laugh, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. And if my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss. Ah yes, these things I too shall miss. My life's been full, I've savored much: Good times, good friends, a loved-one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief. Don't shorten yours with undue grief. Be not burdened with tears of sorrow, enjoy the sunshine of the morrow.
